Bold Point Farmstay B & B - Cottage

Come visit us at the farm!    Bold Point B&B and Cottage welcomes you to our idyllic farm on Quadra Island.  We are a ten minute walk  to a secluded bay on the ocean and  a chain of pristine lakes. Our 10 acre farm includes coastal forest, lush pastures, extensive organic gardens producing a bounty of fruits, vegetables and beautiful flowers for your enjoyment. You will see lambs peacefully grazing from the deck, watch the ducks swimming  on the pond and eat the freshest eggs from the happiest of heritage hens. Quadra Island boasts snow capped mountain views, magnificent marine scenery with miles of rocky shores and beaches and dozens of well marked ocean, lake and forest trails..??

The cozy farm cottage is bright and sunny overlooking the gardens, pastures and Sitka spruce forest.  It is self contained and comfortable with all modern amenities and sleeps 5.  Spend the nights stargazing and moon watching from the loft and the mornings enjoying your coffee bathed in early sunshine.

The modern post and beam cedar farmhouse is bright  and  sunny, uniquely  furnished with West Coast Native Art.   Relax in  a comfortable open plan living and dining space which opens out onto the extensive deck overlooking the pond.   All guest accommodations are upstairs and are  totally private. Sleeps 5. Begin your days with fresh farm baked bread, eggs straight from the nest and organic fruits and berries.

At Bold Point farm, we believe in and practice sustainable tourism , using organic farm or  local produce and   non toxic products in the home, gardens and in animal husbandry. We strive to keep a small an  ecological footprint as possible by incorporating water catchment, on-demand water heating systems and grey water disbursement.

As a guest you have free access to our canoe on the ocean, a row boat on the lakes and bicycles for days of exploration and adventure. We are a destination of peace and tranquility for those who wish to lounge in the hammock under the cherry tree or for the intrepid explorers hiking the trails or paddling the waves.

Your Host Geraldine

Rod was born in Whithorse, Yukon Territory, bicycled across Canada and  is a professional heritage interpreter and guide who loves wild crafting picking and processing forest mushrooms and berries.  He enjoys sharing his passion for BC and Canadian natural history.  Geraldine was born in Dublin,  raised in Libya and England to become a teacher, translator and similtaneous interpreter  for the West German Government. She is passionate about wilderness preservation, loves to garden bringing healthful and tasty organic meals to the table.

Work on the farm doesn't stop in the shoulder seasons and neither does our hospitality. Come in the spring and fall when the beaches are deserted and the restaurants too.  June is  a great month for a visit.  The Quadra Quilt and Gardens Tour together with the Quadra Arts Tour are exciting ways to enjoy the ambience of the island . The fall months grace Quadra Island with some of the best weather. It's never cold on Quadra even in the winter so why not come out in spring and watch Quadra come alive. Be on the water or the mountains when no one else is there.
