Bold Point Farmstay
B&B
Bed and Breakfast in an idyllic
farm setting, Quadra Island B.C.

The Farm House
Your accommodations in the B&B are in the modern, bright and sunny farmhouse. Built of Red Cedar and Douglas Fir this West Coast style home home exudes pride in craftsmanship and woodwork. The interior exhibits Pacific Northwest native artwork, prints and carvings. Custom designed quilts are to be found on each bed. Selected images from Roadside Heart, a unique mural photo collection, curated by your co-host Rod Burns, are displayed.
Breakfast is enjoyed in the open plan kitchen and dining room. The table was designed and made by a Quadra Island craftsman and is in itself a topic of conversation. 8ft in length and 6 inches in depth, the table is made of old growth cedar salvaged from a huge driftwood log.
Picture windows in every
room face either the forest, pastures; sun struck bluffs and / or the
gardens.

The
East Room -A
Contains a queen sized bed. Adjoining and separated by a semi-private bi-fold door, is a sitting area with an additional single, captain's bed. These rooms are flooded with morning sunlight at breakfast time.
This combination is ideal for a family of 3. A cot is available for a further child.
Garden Room
The Garden Room has a single bed, writing desk and wonderful views to the bluff and gardens. Below you can hear the seasonal stream gurgling along.
All rooms have access to the bathroom. Time spent in the soaker tub, graced by the chorus of frogs or the still of a fall evening, helps to melt away city stress - or rediscovered muscles from a day of hiking or kayaking. A second bathroom is on the main floor, with laundry facilities.
All rooms, drapes and pillows have been either sewn, stitched or needle pointed by fabric artist Valerie Lewis of Victoria. Her custom designed quilts reflect the changing seasons at Bold Point Farmstay. |

Main Floor
The main floor, dining and sitting area is open plan. Heating is by a wood stove and solar power. The Maple floors, Alder cabinets, Douglas fir support beams and wainscoting compliment the paintings, prints and carvings.
We have had to increase our shelf space on the landing to accommodate our ever expanding, thousand volume library, available to guests. Special collections involve coastal natural and cultural histories. The doors were salvaged from the Empress Hotel in Victoria prior to renovations. The south and west facing orientation of the house enables windows to flood the sun’s warmth into the main floor.

The Kitchen
The kitchen, once described as the Captain’s Bridge of Starship / Farmship Enterprise, looks onto the pastures, stream, pond and over onto the numerous vegetable and floral garden plots. You will see the sheep peacefully grazing on the paddock and pastures, ducks splash in their private pond while the chickens free range for a meal of healthy worms and grubs.
We strongly support the global
Slow Food Movement! Conversations over meals,
out on the sun deck or warmed by the woodstove are very invigorating,
for the mind and soul!
