Family Farm Experience

The Family Farmhouse Experience is our SPECIALTY. This Family/Farm INTERACTIVE and INTERPRETIVE Program Experience provides you and your family with personal and hands-on farm interaction. We commit to spending quality time with you and or your children during your stay with us on the farm where you and your family will be given the opportunity to interact with our calm and gentle farm animals. Children just love to feed and care for animals. Holding a warm freshly laid egg or bottle feeding a tiny lamb can instil wonder and lifelong memories. Rod ( certified child care worker) and Geraldine gently allow a child to explore the interconnection between the natural world and him/herself. Daily life on a farm is sensory, tactile and therefore experiential. Closing one's eyes and smelling freshly cut hay or running ones fingers through the fleece of a ewe is for many a once-in -a- lifetime - experience. Join your children in picking ripe and juicy raspberries off the vine or digging up plump yellow potatoes. Learn how a spider weaves its web on a farm fence or just sit and observe a mud swallow painstakingly building its nest in the barn. These are just a few unique experiences that we are thrilled to share with you and your children. We guide and supervise all activities to ensure a positive learning farm experience.

Children can help:

- collect the eggs in the morning
- feed the chickens and ducks
- go “ram riding” ( a speciality at Bold Point Farm )
- pick fruits or vegetables
- play ball, badminton or bocci
- water the plants
- lying on a blanket under the cherry tree with dad in the hammock nearby
- shuck the peas or string the beans
- bottle feed the lambs
- pick flowers for the salad

Independent activities within walking distance include:
- swimming in a secluded lagoon down by the ocean
- swimming in pristine fresh water lakes
- take the canoe or row boat for a spin
- hike through a forest to the lake
- explore a beautiful meadow
- take a nature walk with Rod

Nature Walks with Rod

Rod offers interpretive walks for adults, children and families to the ocean, seashore or forest and lakes. These experiences are fun and educational for all ages.
