Location of Bold Point Farmstay

North of Vancouver and Victoria on Vancouver Island, is Campbell River. Quadra Island is a 10 minute ferry ride from Campbell River. Bold Point Farmstay is a further 30 minutes away or 24 km. (15 miles) from the ferry.

Campbell River is centrally located on the east coast of  Vancouver Island, 95 miles (153 km) north of Nanaimo on Highway 19 and 166 miles (265 km) north of Victoria on Highway 19. Campbell River Regional Airport (YBL) is approximately 40 minutes from Vancouver by air and 1.5 hours from Lake Union (Seattle).

Getting to us from:

Victoria: drive North on Highway 19 to Campbell River about 3.5 hrs drive.

Vancouver: take the Tsawassen Ferry (just south of Vancouver) or Horseshoe Bay Ferry (north of Vancouver) to Nanaimo, and then drive North on Highway 19 (about 2 hrs) to Campbell River. A bus service is available from Vancouver (Island Coach Lines Phone: 1-800-318-0818 -or- (604)-753-4371). Alternatively, there are direct scheduled flights from Vancouver International Airport to Campbell River, on either Canadian Regional Airlines or Air BC. Flight time is 40 minutes.

Seattle: drive north to Port Angeles on Highway 99. Take Washington State Ferries from Port Angeles (on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State) to Victoria   or drive north to Vancouver on Interstate-5 then take BC Ferries to Nanaimo from Tsawassen or Horseshoe Bay (see above). Once in Nanaimo, you can drive north to Campbell River (as described above). Alternatively, there are scheduled flights from Seattle-Tacoma Airport to Campbell River, via Vancouver, and direct flights from Lake Union (Seattle area) with Kenmore Air

Between the city of Vancouver, and Vancouver Island, British Columbia Ferry Corp. (BC Ferries) provides year round vehicle and walk-on ferry service. Contact them for schedules and rates. There are 3 options for ferry routes to the island:

1. Horseshoe Bay (North of Vancouver) to Departure Bay at Nanaimo *Sailing time approx. 1 hr and 35min.

2. Tsawassen (South of Vancouver) to Duke Point (South of Nanaimo) *Sailing time approx. 2 hrs

3. Tsawassen (South of Vancouver) to Swartz Bay (near Victoria) *Sailing time approx. 1 hr and 35min.

Between Washington State and Vancouver Island, ferries connect Port Angeles,  Seattle,  Bellingham and Anacortes to Victoria B.C.

Seattle, WA to Victoria, B.C.

1. Victoria Clipper: ‘ Passengers only’, offers year-round walk-on service. Cost per round trip in peak season is $109 Can.. For departure times call 1 800 888 2535 (outside BC). http://www.victoriaclipper.com/

3.Princess Marguerite III Ferry: Offers late spring, summer, and early fall car ferry and walk-on service. Sailing time approx. 4.5hrs. Departs Victoria 7:30amam and Seattle at 1pm. Anacortes, WA and Sidney, B.C.

( few miles north of Victoria) BC: Year round vehicle and passenger ferry. Sailing time approx. 3 hrs. Departs Anacortes at 8am and Sidney at 12noon. AIR LINES SERVING VANCOUVER ISLAND

Major airlines have frequent scheduled flights from Vancouver, BC and Seattle, WA directly to Victoria International Airport and also connect with other Island communities like Nanaimo, Courtenay, Comox, Campbell River and Port Hardy.
